Discs with more than one video

What it does

Some discs hold several separate videos, called titles. A DVD recorder often makes one title per recording, and some camcorders and PC burning programs do the same.

Rippsy looks at every title on the disc and picks the longest one, which is usually the main video. When there's more than one, it shows a list under 1. Choose a disc with each title's length and size, for example "Title 2, 1h 02m (2.1 GB)", longest first.

Very short titles (under 30 seconds) are left out of the list. They're almost always menus, logos, or blank placeholders.

How to use it

1. Put the disc in and wait for the list: "This disc has more than one video. Pick one."
2. Click the title you want. The summary line above the list shows its length and size.
3. Choose the format and file name, then press Start ripping.

To save every video on the disc: rip one title. When it's saved, click the next title in the list, change the file name if you like, and press Start ripping again. Rippsy never overwrites an earlier file; if the name is taken it adds " (2)".

To keep the whole disc in one file, menus and all, save it as a disc image (ISO) instead.

Troubleshooting

• The video stops partway or seems to be missing a section: the rest may be in another title. Check the list for a second long title.
• Each title is a separate recording and I want them together: Rippsy saves one title per file. Rip each one, or make an ISO of the whole disc.
• The list shows only one short title, or none: the disc may not be finalized. See "Couldn't find any video".
