First Store release

Capture that stays out of the way
- • Dark combo boxes, a dark microphone slider, and visible level meters.
- • Settings fits a 1366×768 laptop. Long device names show a tooltip.
Files you can use
- • A finished recording never overwrites a file already in the folder.
- • The microphone track no longer drops audio when it fills first.
Privacy
- • Your recordings never leave this PC. File names are never sent.
- • Optional usage data is a Settings toggle. Crash reports stay on so we can fix capture failures.
Recording what you hear should not need a driver
Virtual cables, Voicemeeter graphs, and “record this tab” tools that miss the rest of the mix. Windows already has loopback capture. StreamTap just uses it.
No virtual cable
WASAPI loopback records the mix coming out of a playback device. Nothing changes about how your audio is routed.
Both sides of a call
Optionally record your microphone too, mixed into one file or kept as its own track. Off by default every launch.
Stays on this PC
No account. Recordings never leave this computer. Support tickets send only what you type.

Start the audio
Play the call, stream, or tab you want. Confirm the System meter moves.
Pick the device
Default follows Windows. A named device stays picked if you switch outputs later.
Record
Pause leaves a stretch out of the file. Stop writes WAV or MP3.
Open the folder
Default is Music\StreamTap. It never overwrites a file already there.

Captures the mix coming out of the playback device you pick — headset, speakers, or Default that follows Windows.
Optional microphone
Tick the box before Record. Mix both sides into one file, or keep the mic as its own track. Off every launch.
WAV or MP3
Uncompressed WAV, or MP3 at 128–320 kbps. Default is MP3 at 192 kbps.
Pause without ending
Paused time is left out of the file. The timer counts what you actually recorded.
Long recordings split
Instead of stopping at the WAV size limit, StreamTap starts a numbered part and keeps going.
Nothing uploaded
Recordings stay in Music\StreamTap, or the folder you choose. No account.
