What's new

Scanning that works
- • Two-sided feeder jobs return front then back, in reading order.
- • A feeder stack comes back as every page, not the first sheet only.
- • 150 and 600 DPI work. The resolution list matches what your scanner actually supports.
Documents remember themselves
- • Pages are saved as you scan. Close the app and they are still there.
- • The Session dropdown opens earlier stacks. New starts a blank one without throwing the last one away.
- • Find in pages (Ctrl+F) jumps to the page that has the text.
Help and appearance
- • In-app help (?) covers the screen you are on. Browse all docs opens the full site.
- • Light, dark, or match Windows — including when you change it while the app is open.
- • Layout matches what people used in HP Scan: settings left, pages middle, preview right.
Export
- • Export all pages, selected thumbnails, a range (1-3), or a list (1,2,4).
- • A failed export leaves the previous file intact. If the PDF is open elsewhere, the error says so.
- • Copy text from a scan in the preview. The exported PDF is still searchable in any reader.
HP Scan went away. The paper didn't.
HP discontinued HP Scan. Most of the replacements want an account, a subscription, or your documents in someone else's cloud.

Find the scanner
It looks on the network (eSCL/AirScan) and through Windows. Your last scanner is remembered.
Pick how to scan
Flatbed, feeder, or feeder (duplex). 300 DPI and OCR on is the usual setup.
Scan
Pages show up as thumbnails. Rotate, reorder, or drop blanks. Close the app — they stay.
Export PDF
All pages, a range, or a list. If OCR was on, Ctrl+F works in any PDF reader.
