Rippsy uses date-based version numbers: year, month, and release (2026.9.1 is the first release in September 2026).

The first release of Rippsy.

• Disc in, video out. Put a home-made DVD in and Rippsy finds it, picks the main video, and names the file from the disc label. Press Start ripping. It notices USB DVD drives too.
• Four ways to save: MP4 (plays on anything), MKV (keeps every audio track untouched), MKV original quality (no conversion at all), or a disc image (ISO) of the whole disc, menus included.
• Made for camcorder footage. Automatic deinterlacing, and Faster, Balanced, and Best quality presets.
• Rescues scratched discs. Weak spots are re-read, unreadable spots are skipped instead of failing the rip, and Rippsy tells you how much it couldn't read.
• No DVD drive needed if you have a VIDEO_TS folder copied from a disc. Open it, or drop it on the window.
• Walk away. Real progress and time left, the PC stays awake, and the tray opens when it's done.
• For discs you made yourself. Copy-protected movie DVDs are detected and refused. Rippsy never bypasses copy protection.
• Private. Your discs and videos never leave your PC. No account, no ads, no usage analytics. See Privacy.
