Delete video
Last updated: 26 October 2026
What it does
Delete video moves the video you are watching to the Recycle Bin, then plays the next video in the folder. It is a quick way to go through a folder and keep only what you want.
How to use it
- Press Del, or right-click β Delete videoβ¦.
- Vantage Player asks first. Choose Move to Recycle Bin, or Cancel to keep the video.
- The next video in the folder starts. If that was the last video, the window is empty.
To stop the question, check Don't ask again when it appears. To bring it back, open Settings and turn on Ask before deleting a video.
To get a video back, open the Recycle Bin on the desktop and restore it.
Troubleshooting
- Some places have no Recycle Bin, such as many network shares and some USB drives. There, Windows warns that the file will be deleted permanently and asks you to confirm. If you say no, the video stays and keeps playing.
- "Still copying": the video is being copied with Copy to folder. Wait for the copy to finish, then delete it.
- "Couldn't delete": another program has the file open, or you do not have permission to delete it. The video carries on from where it was.
