This page lists each thing Vantage Player sends to LTC Labs. The short version: a once-a-day update check, launch and close, optional watch and folder events, and crash reports if playback or the app fails. No file paths, no filenames, no video content.
Events
| Event | When | What is in it |
|---|---|---|
app_launched |
Startup, always | How it was started, and whether a file was opened (yes or no) |

Where it goes
- The update check goes to
https://www.ltclabs.dev/api/app/update-check, at most once per 24 hours. - Crash reports go to
https://www.ltclabs.dev/api/app/crash. - Usage events are sent in batches to
https://www.ltclabs.dev/api/app/telemetry, when you close Vantage Player and every 30 minutes while it is open.
What is never sent
- Video or audio content
- File paths, filenames, or folder names
- Subtitle text
- Resume positions, recent-file lists, or copy-to folder lists
Turning it off
Settings → Send anonymous usage data (on by default) stops the optional events. Crash reports and the once-a-day update check stay on so we can fix decoder and startup failures.
The machine is identified by a SHA-256 hash of the Windows MachineGuid. The original value never leaves the PC. There is no account.
