Vantage Player uses date-based version numbers. 2026.10.1 is an October 2026 release. The Microsoft Store installs updates for you.

2026.10.1

• Delete video: press Del to send the video you're watching to the Recycle Bin and go straight to the next one. Turn the confirmation off if you don't need it, and back on in Settings. More
• Copy to folder: right-click to copy the current video to a folder, then press Ctrl+Shift+C to send the next one to the same place. Existing files are never overwritten. More
• Select several videos in File Explorer and open them to play just those videos as a playlist.
• Smoother playback of 4K videos.
• Make Vantage Player the default… is now in the right-click menu until it's your default video app.

Plus a cleaner taskbar icon, and reliability and performance improvements.

2026.9.4

The first Microsoft Store release.

• Open a video and swipe or arrow to the next file in the same folder.
• A slide-out folder browser with thumbnails.
• HEVC, MKV, MOV, MP4, WebM and the rest of the usual formats, with no extra codec packs.
• Resume, auto-play next, and a Help ? on the control bar.
• Set Vantage Player as your default video app from Settings. Windows still has to confirm it.
