Make it your default video app
Last updated: 26 October 2026
What it does
Makes double-clicking a video in File Explorer open it in Vantage Player. Windows does not let an app make itself the default, so Windows asks you to confirm in its own Settings.
How to use it
- Right-click the video in Vantage Player → Make Vantage Player the default…. This item shows only while Vantage Player is not yet your video app. You can also open Settings and press Set as default….
- Windows Settings opens on Vantage Player's page under Default apps.
- Pick the file types you want Vantage Player to open, such as .mp4, .mkv and .mov, and choose Vantage Player for each.
The first time you start Vantage Player, a notice offers the same thing. Open Default apps takes you there.
For one video at a time, right-click it in File Explorer → Open with → Vantage Player.
