What it does
Settings holds the few choices you might want to change. Everything is set sensibly from the start.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Scan when Underbrush opens | On | Scans the last drive you picked as soon as Underbrush opens, so the numbers are ready. |
| Set Your call items aside for a week before deleting them | On | Lets you put them back from History. The space comes back when the week is up, or straight away with Delete now. See Clean up. |
| Check for updates once a day | On | Sends only the Underbrush version, your operating system version and an anonymous ID for this computer. Nothing about your files. |
| Send crash reports to help fix bugs | On | If Underbrush crashes, sends the technical error with file and folder names removed. |
| Send anonymous usage data | On | When a scan or clean-up finishes: how many files, how long it took, how much was freed. Never names or folders. Underbrush always reports when it opens, closes, or a scan or clean-up fails, so we can fix problems. See Privacy. |
| Keep a diagnostic log | On | Writes what Underbrush does to a log on this computer, kept for a week. It's sent only if you tick Include diagnostic info when you contact support. Folder names are removed as each line is written. Open the log folder shows it. |
Open Settings with the ⚙ button at the top right.
Size of everything
Underbrush picks a size for your screen the first time it opens. To change it:
- Press Ctrl + and Ctrl − (Cmd on a Mac) from anywhere in the app, or use Size of text and layout in Settings.
- Press Ctrl 0, or click the percentage in Settings, to go back to 100%.
The size is saved in settings.json:
- Windows:
%APPDATA%\LTCLabs\Underbrush\settings.json - Mac:
~/Library/Application Support/LTCLabs/Underbrush/settings.json
Troubleshooting
- Everything is tiny on a big monitor: press Ctrl + a few times.
