What it does
Explore lets you walk the drive one folder at a time, biggest first. For each folder it shows the size, the pile, what kind of files it holds, and how much inside is safe to clear.
Pick a folder and the panel on the right explains it:
- What it is and which pile it's in, with a short description for folders Underbrush recognises.
- Last changed: when anything inside was last written.
- What's inside: for temp and cache folders, who made each part (Google Chrome, the Visual
Studio installer, installer leftovers, temporary
tmp…folders, and so on), with a verdict for each. A git repository inside is marked as kept. - What kind of files: the folder split by kind.
How to use it
- Open the Explore tab, or click a row on the Dashboard.
- Click a folder to go into it. Use the path at the top to go back up.
- Select a folder to see its details on the right.
- Click Add to clean-up to tick it in the Clean up list (or Make online-only for a cloud folder). Click again to take it out.
- Click Show in File Explorer (Finder on a Mac) to open the folder yourself.
Only folders Underbrush recognises can be added to the clean-up. To remove your own files, use File Explorer or Finder.
Troubleshooting
- A folder shows no "Add to clean-up": it's in Leave it or Unsorted, so Underbrush won't clear it.
