Make a Windows 11 installer

Last updated: 25 October 2026

On Windows, Yoink can download a Windows 11 image from Microsoft or use an ISO you already have, then erase a USB stick and make it a bootable installer. This is a Windows installer. Stillwater's boot USB is a different stick: it only starts a PC that will not boot, so Stillwater can reach the hard drive.

How to use it

  1. Plug in a USB stick. It will be erased.
  2. Choose Make a Windows 11 installer.
  3. Pick a source: download, or an ISO, ESD, or folder you already have.
  4. Pick the edition. Ask makes Setup offer the list even when the PC's firmware key is Home. A generic Pro key does not activate Windows. Pro still needs a Pro license.
  5. Type ERASE and wait. The first build from a download takes several minutes.

Setup always asks which disk to install Windows onto. Yoink does not answer that.

This job is Windows only.

Troubleshooting

  • The download fails: the stick and the download are separate. You can point Yoink at an ISO you saved yourself.
  • The stick isn't listed: My drive isn't listed.
