Does Stillwater need an account?

No. There is no sign-in. A support message uses the email address you type, and that is the only place your address is sent.

Where do my files go?

Into the image file you chose, on another drive. Stillwater does not upload the image, the files in it, or disk contents.

What is the image file?

A VHDX file, Microsoft's virtual disk format, plus a small manifest beside it. Windows can open a VHDX with a double-click.

Can I pull one file out of an image?

Not in this version. Restore puts the whole image back. Opening an image to copy out single files is not built yet.

Is this Yoink?

No. Yoink is the USB and SD tool. It rips a stick to an image, wipes it, or makes it a Windows 11 installer. It stays on removable drives. Stillwater backs up and restores the PC's hard drive. The USB stick is only how you start a machine that will not boot, so Stillwater can reach that drive from outside Windows.
