Place & aim access points

What it does. Pins each AP on the map (name + GPS) and, for directionals, heading and beam.

How to use it

Android (usual): the Record screen lists every UniFi AP. Pick the one you are standing under (it defaults to the AP UniFi says you are on). A ✓ means that AP already has a yellow pin. Tap U6+ is here (the button uses the name you picked). That saves only that UniFi AP + this GPS as a yellow pin. It does not use the house/camera box.

House / Blink / Nest: pick the kind — Guess from the name (the default), House, Camera, Other wireless, Access point — type a name, then Mark this GPS. Green / orange / purple pins. Choosing Access point writes a yellow AP pin, the same as U6+ is here.

Place APs on a phone: pick the AP, Use my GPS, antenna type, heading, Save. Directionals get a coverage wedge. Point phone & set heading uses the compass — hold the phone flat; iPhone asks permission on the tap, and Android may ask for a figure-8 calibration.

On the PC, Place APs works for everything except Use my GPS — a PC has no GPS, so type the latitude and longitude, or aim the AP on the map instead (click the pin, then click where it points).

Troubleshooting

• Pin U6+ felt like a label — it is not a free-text spot. It writes the controller AP’s GPS. Mark house/camera separately.
• Pinned the wrong AP — pick the AP from the list, then tap. The HUD name is only the default. A ✓ is already on the map; tap again to move it.
• No UniFi AP to pin — walk code not saved, or the PC has no AP list yet. Save the code, wait a few seconds, or pin from Place APs on the PC.
• "No GPS fix yet" on the PC — expected: Use my GPS needs a device with GPS. Type the coordinates, or pin it from the phone.
