Getting help
Last updated: 1 September 2026
File a ticket from inside StreamTap
Press Support in the top-right of the StreamTap window. Fill in your email, a subject and a description of what happened, and press Submit ticket. StreamTap then shows the address in large type and asks you to confirm it — Yes, send to [email protected] — because a typo here means the reply never arrives and you won't know. If the domain looks like a misspelling of a common provider, Use gmail.com is offered next to that. You'll get a ticket number on screen (it is selectable, so you can copy it) and a reply by email, usually within 24–48 hours.
Leave Include diagnostic logs ticked unless you have a reason not to. It attaches the tail of StreamTap's own log — app version, Windows version, which capture devices were in use, and any errors — which is usually the difference between us fixing something on the first reply and a week of back-and-forth.
The logs contain no recordings, no filenames of your recordings, and no personal
information. You can read them yourself first: they're plain text, and Settings →
Open log folder takes you to them. (That is %LOCALAPPDATA%\LTCLabs\StreamTap\Logs
for the direct download; the Microsoft Store version keeps them inside its own
package folder.)
What to tell us
The three things that help most:
- What you did — the steps, in order.
- What you expected, and what happened instead.
- When it happened, roughly, so we can find it in the log.
If a recording came out wrong, say what you were recording (a Teams call, a browser tab, a game) and which output device you were using.
If the ticket won't send
StreamTap offers to fall back to email if it can't reach us — that's normal if you're offline or behind a restrictive network. You can also email [email protected] directly. Include your StreamTap version, shown under the app title.
