Privacy and what the app sends

BranchOut Display runs entirely on your PC. It talks to LTC Labs (ltclabs.dev) only for the things below. There are no ads and no third-party trackers.

Update check

On startup and every few minutes, the app tells LTC Labs its version so we can let you know about updates. This includes an anonymous machine ID (a one-way hash — it can't be traced back to your PC or you), the app version and your Windows version.

Usage stats (you can turn these off)

Anonymous counts of which features are used — for example "Sleep Now was used", how many monitors are connected, whether Night mode is on. No window titles, file names, screen contents or personal details.

Turn this off with Share anonymous usage stats at the bottom of the settings window.

Crash reports

If the app crashes, it sends the error and where in the code it happened, so we can fix it. Your user name, home folder and anything that looks like an email address or password are removed first.

Support tickets

Only when you send one: your email, name (optional), subject and message, and — if you leave Include diagnostic logs ticked — the app's recent log (monitor models, what sleep/wake did). Click See what's sent in the dialog to read it first. Personal details are removed from the log.

Stored on your PC

Settings and logs: %LOCALAPPDATA%\BranchOutDisplay. Nothing leaves your PC except as described above.
